She does not have her shoes on and her stockings are down
around her ankles. She committed suicide???? Why would she take her shoes off
and have her stockings down close to her feet to kill herself by jumping from
the 86th floor of the Empire State Building?
Looks like she was getting undressed. Suicide…really?????

THE WIND upon reaching terminal speed on the way down would easily blow off her shoes and lower or even blow off her stockings.

Her fiancé, Barry Rhodes, moved to Florida and never married after this sad tragedy; he apparently loved her very much and had a difficult time bearing her loss along with the big perplexing question…..WHY??? ~ This old story & photo actually brought me to tears. I was 4 1/2 years old in May of 1947 when this happened. ~ May she rest in peace.
